Are you looking for editorial experience? Do you want to participate in the production and manufacturing of Mend, an anthology of work by incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals and their families? 

Mend Syracuse is offering an apprentice position for writers in Central New York who have been impacted by mass incarceration. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively to plan, design, and edit the 2024 issue. 

 You’ll also get a chance to meet with guest speakers and to learn the skills needed to write and create a publication from start to finish.  

Participants will receive a stipend for attending. 

Requirements
• Attend weekly meetings at Syracuse University, Freedom Commons, or a nearby location.
• The position runs from July 2023-December 2023 with some breaks in between because of holidays.
• You just need an interest in writing. No technical skills required.
